Vinit Shah is an accomplished finance professional with over 15 years of experience in financial management, institutional governance, and strategic operations across both educational and corporate environments. He currently serves as the Head - Finance and Corporate Services at MICA, where he oversees the institute’s comprehensive financial ecosystem, compliance architecture, operational efficiency, and corporate governance processes.

Known for his disciplined approach, strategic foresight, and deep understanding of financial systems, Vinit has played a pivotal role in strengthening MICA’s fiscal planning, regulatory compliance, infrastructure oversight, and institutional processes. His expertise extends across statutory audits, financial reporting, taxation, procurement, and cross-functional leadership. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to enhancing organisational accountability, improving efficiency, and supporting large-scale institutional growth. 

With a career spanning auditing, teaching, academic administration, and senior financial leadership, Vinit brings a rare combination of technical proficiency and people-centric management to his work. His professional journey reflects a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and developing robust financial systems that enable long-term institutional sustainability. 

Education

Vinit is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having cleared the CA examination conducted by The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in May 2012. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with distinction from H.L. College of Commerce, Gujarat University, in 2007. 

He has further strengthened his financial and managerial expertise through a prestigious certificate programme on Management and Finance for Experienced Chartered Accountants at IIM Ahmedabad (2020–21), earning alumni status. His academic journey is marked by consistent excellence, including high merit positions during his school and college years. 

Professional Experience 

Vinit began his career as an Audit Assistant at Mukesh M. Shah & Co., where he conducted statutory, internal, and tax audits, assisted in tax planning, and supported financial reviews for a diverse set of clients. 

He later served as Faculty and Accounts/Finance Lead at Arihant Institute and J.K. Shah Classes (2009–2017), where he played a dual role in academic leadership and organisational finance. He spearheaded national expansion projects, managed cash flow and budgeting, handled MIS reporting, and delivered career seminars across India. 

Joining MICA in 2017, he progressed from Senior Manager – Finance to Head – Finance, and currently holds the expanded portfolio of Head – Finance and Corporate Services. His responsibilities span financial planning, statutory compliance, audits, tax filings, procurement, payroll, infrastructure management, vendor strategy, and institutional reporting to governing bodies and regulators. He also works closely with MICA Foundation Trustees and supports accreditation processes through financial data and documentation. 

Awards & Research 

Vinit’s academic excellence has been recognised through multiple awards in Statistics, including a prize for securing the highest marks in Statistics at the Class XII level and a scholarship in the first year of B.Com. for topping Statistics in college. He has also demonstrated leadership outside the classroom, receiving a trophy as captain of the winning Season Ball Cricket Tournament team at H.L. College of Commerce. His engagement with advanced executive education at IIM Ahmedabad reflects his commitment to continuous learning in management and finance, contributing to applied insights in institutional financial governance and strategic decision-making. His career reflects an ongoing interest in financial systems, institutional governance, and process optimisation.
