Prof. Chandradeep (CD) Mitra stands as a distinguished figure in marketing, branding, and entrepreneurship education in India. With over three decades of experience spanning corporate leadership and academia, he transitioned from heading major agencies to mentoring future leaders and innovators.

Prof. Mitra, Founder and CEO of PipalMajik and Co-Founder of Meta4Sight, hails from Kolkata is an adjunct faculty at MICA. He excels in brand management, entrepreneurship, and coaching. After two decades as a senior leader in marketing, branding, communications, and media, Mitra pivoted in 2009 to empower students and entrepreneurs through facilitation, guidance, and institutional development. Through consultancies like PipalMajik and Meta4Sight, he delivers strategic advisory and training in strategy, marketing, branding, communication, and innovation to diverse clients from FMCG to social ventures.

Professional Experience

Prof. Mitra is the Founder & CEO of PipalMajik, a boutique consulting, coaching, and training firm advising entrepreneurs, family businesses, social enterprises, and corporates on strategy, marketing, branding, communication, and innovation. He is also Chief Mentor at Renaissance Strategic Consultants and Co-Founder of Meta4Sight, a strategic foresight and leadership advisory platform. 

He serves as Advisor and Mentor at IIM Calcutta Innovation Park, contributing to entrepreneurship ecosystem development and innovation-led growth across multiple Indian states. 

In academia, he has been a long-standing Visiting Faculty at IIM Calcutta and Adjunct Faculty at MICA, and has taught at leading institutions including XLRI, SPJIMR, IIM Shillong, ISB Hyderabad, IIM Lucknow, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, and XIMB. 

Earlier in his career, Prof. Mitra held senior leadership roles at Lowe Lintas, Ogilvy & Mather, Mudra (DDB Mudra) and other agencies, heading national advertising, media, digital, CRM, and branding businesses, and working with marquee global brands. 

Education

Mitra studied PGDM (MBA), majoring in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. He had pursued B.Tech in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
