Dr. Darshan Ashwin Trivedi is an adjunct faculty at MICA, and he contributes to Media, Entertainment and Sports, Crafting Creative Communication and Content and Creator Economy.
Dr. Darshan Ashwin Trivedi is an Indian filmmaker, Educator, M&E Industry consultant, researcher, and entrepreneur. Darshan’s films ‘Mrugtrushna’ and ‘Mara Pappa Superhero’ have been selected for several international film festivals. Darshan has also produced and directed five more feature films, viz. ‘Lakiro’, ‘Keri’, ‘Aaj Jaaneki Zidd Na Karo’, “Ek Ruka Hua Faisla” and ‘Bicycle Thief’ in Gujarati and Hindi languages. He has co-produced one of the world’s first AI films, ‘Maharaja in Denims’, announced in January 2024. Darshan also has produced one OTT show Dehati Ladke, which was commissioned by Amazon Mini TV. An OTT show written by Darshan is commissioned by India’s leading streaming platform in 2025. Darshan’s film script Yayavar was selected by the NFDC Screenwriters’ Lab 2025. He is the founder of a content company named Twenty21 Studio.
At the age of ten, Darshan joined the entertainment industry, first as a Radio artiste and later as a television, theatre, and film actor. Darshan started as a creative resource and later moved to strategy, business, and consulting roles in senior management of several media organizations. Darshan has worked with organizations like Zee Television, Sony Entertainment Television, Radio Miarchi, Zoom Television, Reliance Broadcast Network Limited and Neela Telefilms among others. Darshan actively consults to various sizes of organizations.
After completing his Master’s Degree in Development Communications, he spent his early career in the development sector; later, he joined broadcast platforms. Darshan has diverse experience working with television, radio, films, and digital media. Darshan holds a Ph.D. in Sociology and Law from Gujarat National Law University. Dr. Darshan Ashwin Trivedi is an adjunct faculty at MICA, and he contributes to Media, Entertainment and Sports, Crafting Creative Communication and the School of Applied Creativity. Darshan has been the editor of the Indian OTT Platforms Report for the last eight years. Darshan also actively contributes to industry research and case study research.
Darshan has been a visiting faculty to various media and communication schools across India. He has lived in Canada briefly. Darshan has been awarded several prestigious awards for his films and other platforms work.
