General Information

What is ICMC 2027?

ICMC 2027 is MICA's 12th International Conference, themed "AI and the Unsettled Imagination: Assumptions, Tensions, Paradoxes, Futures." The conference explores AI as a force of human and societal transformation across creativity, culture, communication, commerce, institutions, and communities.

When and where will the conference be held?

The conference will be held at MICA, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

  • Doctoral Colloquium: 22 January 2027
  • Main Conference: 23–24 January 2027

Will I receive certificate of attendance for the conference?

Yes, a certificate of attendance for this conference is issued in the weeks following the conference.  

Is financial support available?

Please note that you are responsible for paying all fees and expenses related to your participation in the Conference and any necessary insurance for health and travel. Should you be requesting a letter of invitation, this does NOT include any financial aid such as waived fees, financial support, or accommodation.  

Submission & Review

What types of submissions are accepted?

ICMC 2027 welcomes:

  • Full papers
  • Structured abstracts
  • Doctoral colloquium submissions
  • Special session proposals
  • Panel proposals
  • Workshop proposals

Is the review process double-blind?

Yes. Authors should remove all identifying information from the manuscript. Author details must be submitted separately to ensure a blind review process.

Can I submit the same paper to multiple tracks?

No. Each submission should be made to only one track.

Will accepted papers be published?

Accepted contributions may be included in:

  • Conference proceedings
  • Edited volumes
  • Selected peer-reviewed publication opportunities, subject to review and editorial requirements.

Registration

Is registration mandatory for accepted papers?

Yes. At least one author of every accepted submission must register within the specified registration period for inclusion in the conference programme and proceedings.

Will there be early-bird registration?

Yes. Early-bird registration dates will be announced on the conference website.

Doctoral Colloquium

What is the Doctoral Colloquium?

The Doctoral Colloquium provides research scholars with an opportunity to present their work, receive feedback from senior scholars, and engage in academic networking.

Who can participate in the Doctoral Colloquium?

Doctoral scholars at any stage of their research are encouraged to participate.

Is participation in the Doctoral Colloquium separate from the main conference?

Yes. The Doctoral Colloquium is scheduled as a dedicated pre-conference event.
